After the terrorist attack in the Pahalgam Bairsran valley in Jammu-et-Cachemire, the government of India has made many major decisions against Pakistan. The most important of them is that India has postponed the Indus water agreement in 1960 with immediate effect. It has been prohibited until the prohibited prohibition of Pakistan terrorism. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to know what the effect of this decision will be?

There are five tributaries of the Industry river which are delighted, Beas, Sutlej, Jhelum and Chenab. The Ravi, Beas and Sutlej rivers are called oriental rivers while Chenab, Jhelum and Indus are called Western rivers. Their water is important for India and Pakistan.

Pradeep Kumar Saxena, which was used for the Sindh Water Commission in India for six years, says that India has many options. The complete cancellation of the industrial water Treaty can be the first step in this direction if the government decides.

He said that although there is no clear provision to cancel it in the Indus water Treaty. However, article 62 of the Vienna Convention has a complete range for this, under which the provisions of the treaty may be refused to follow the current situation.

He informed that now India will not be forced to accept restrictions on the Kishanganga project and other projects carried out on Western rivers. By stopping the treaty, India can now rinse Western rivers on the dams. In fact, the dams are removed from the rinsing when the silt is stored in the tanks. In this, the silt is extracted by accelerating the flow of water.

Due to this treaty, India was not allowed to rinse in projects like Kishanganga because it could have affected the water given in Pakistan. But now there will be no more constraints on this subject.

Last year, India sent an official opinion to Pakistan, in which this treaty and an adequate change was said to be reviewed. On this subject, Saxena said that in the event of this treaty, there will be no responsibility for India.

According to the treaty, the design was prohibited to create structures such as the dam on the Indus and its tributaries. Earlier, Pakistan opposed these conceptions, but it will not be compulsory to focus on these concerns in the future. Pakistan has opposed almost all projects in the past.

After the terrorist attack of Pulwama in 2019, the government approved eight hydroelectric projects in Ladakh. But now, after the ban on the Industry river agreement, no objection to new Pakistan projects will not be valid.
