The integrated social service (ASI) of the Municipality of ílhavo and the Commission for the protection of children and young people (CPCJ) of ílhavo have, since last Tuesday (April 29), new structures, after the conclusion of the first phase of the remodeling works of the ground floor of the building for the Municipality.

The intervention performed allows us to increase the response capacity of the social development and health division, in order to cover the services and values that the City Council of ílhavo has started to take, with the transfer of skills from the area of the social action and health of the state to the Municipality, respectively in October 2022 and May 2023.
In this reorganization of the floor 0 of the town hall building, the former exhibition gallery was used, which has been disabled for several years, used only as file and storage files.
This wing therefore excludes the exclusive division of social development and health (DDSS), as well as the Ilhavo CPCJ (thus satisfying the legislation transmitted by the National Commission), which will have a position more worried with the character of privacy and confidentiality, also giving the autonomy of the other room services.
The new space also covers the inclusion counter, adapted to people with conditioned mobility, also welcomes the teams of the social radar, EMACE – multidisciplinary team to support the educational community, the oldest age and the general team of DDSS.
To this end, this area of the building includes a general service area, a service area dedicated to the CPCJ, two waiting rooms, five service wardrobes (one of them who adapt to children and another prepared to receive people with conditioned mobility), six work rooms, a meeting room, a file area, a health area adapted to people with conditional mobility, both in the area of the service and for the noble access to the municipality.
Given the sensitive character of the work developed there, there was a special cure in the choice of materials and in the organization of space. We tried to create a harmonious, quiet and comfortable environment, both for citizens and for employees, with accessibility for all privacy service areas. The services provided here are represented in a new graphic identity, focusing on protection, family and community.
In a second phase, the wings department of the Floor of the City Council of ílhavo will be renovated in the coming months, which will be reconfigured to welcome the services to support the general service to the citizen, as well as the public service of the remaining municipal areas. This wing will also be installed a wider area of files and a new and modern wardrobe designed for the dematerialisation of physical processes.
The intervention performed in both wings was assigned by 537,862.26 euros, more VAT. This investment will allow us to increase the quality of the service provided to citizens through the improvement of the working conditions of the Teams of the Town Hall building.
