The students of the Aes Majada Marcial de Puerto del Rosario will deal with the development of this project, together with the CIFP SAFA Tech of Valladolid and Cifp Aviles. Thanks to this collaboration, students will develop key skills in the design and functioning of social robots, a technology with great potential application in care.

The project contemplates the construction of four advanced social robots, designed by the Innova company. These robots will have a natural interaction technology, allowing faces, responding to voice commands and maintaining conversations. They can participate in different daily tasks and provide cognitive stimulation and emotional support, improving people’s well -being and social inclusion.

CIFP Manda Marcial will be responsible for mechanical design, assembly and calibration of robots, while Cifp Safa technological work is oriented towards the design of graphic interface and software. For its part, the CIFP avilé will be responsible for electronic design and the integration of the sensors for autonomous navigation and the detection of obstacles.

According to Lola García, “it is important that new technologies and all their possibilities are at the service of people who live in Fuerteventura, in particular those most vulnerable groups that require particular attention”. In addition, the president continued, “with a project that allows students to be trained in programming and assembly activities that will serve to specialize in highly expanding professional sectors such as new technologies”. For this reason, the president of the island has also announced that the Cabildo will financially support the project, allowing the center to acquire part of the equipment necessary for its development.

For his part, Víctor Alonso, has highlighted “a project that derives from the collaboration between Cabildo, the company’s office and the educational centers, and this is advantageous for the vulnerable people of Fuerteventura”. “A series of technical criteria will be followed to adapt this technology to the user profile and users of the various socio -health centers of Fuerteventura.”

The managers of the Offinnova group referred to the term “social robot” such as that technology that interacts with people in a natural and emotional way, designed to work in social environments such as houses, schools or hospitals. They focus on improving people’s quality of life, providing support and assistance efficiently and friendly. “We bet on Fuerteventura for the development of this type of beneficial projects for the population,” said the CEO of Ininnova, Antonio Luis Brito.
