The Red Cross project to improve the feeding of thousands of children

Alcampo and Red Cross Hold Ash to Ony and Néod and Kitchen Master of Castilla Y León, for the thirteenth year in a row, Solidarity campaign ‘breakfast and snacks #Concorazón’, with the aim of improving the nutrition of thousands of children of weak families.
Between 4 and 10 April, Alcampo customers will be able to make economic donations in the 393 participating centers boxes, which are in the case of Castilla Y León, the total number of participating stores is 77. Contributions 1, 3, 5, 10 or 20 euros may be.
At the end of the campaign, the full amount collected to the Red Cross will be delivered in the form of currency cards that will be distributed among families in weak situations to buy food.
The total funds collected will be added to the direct donation of 110,000 euros that Alcampo will implement. In addition, Néod and ONY companies will contribute to 3000 euros for each of them.
With these cards, families can make a purchase in any Alcampo store according to their needs by choosing between fresh products, which need a cold chain, meat, vegetables, fish or other specific needs, such as allergies or intolerance to some foods.
This year, the campaign was presented simultaneously in six independent societies, with the support of other organizations, such as the Association for Chefs and Inspection in the Madrid and Kanari Islands (Madrid and Canary Islands), Cooking Master in Castilla Y León, Cocineros Association based on the islands (Ascanib), Alcampo-Scorpio 71 and the Shopping Center Spanish.

In Castilla Y León, the campaign was presented at the headquarters of the Red Cross in Salamanca, with the presence of companies and participating institutions, Javier Vicente, Regional Coordinator for Red Cross Salamanca, óscar monclús, ALCAMPO manager for Castilla Y León and Héctor Carabias.
To achieve this goal, the campaign will have the support of 2700 volunteers in the Red Cross, which will be added volunteers in companies that support the initiative. These will be present in Alcampo centers to inform customers and facilitate donations.
The Red Cross Coordinator at Salalamca, Javier Vicente, explained that in Castilla Y León, the humanitarian organization serves about 10,000 families in weakness. Red Cross works directly with families and childhood to increase awareness of the importance of a healthy, balanced and nourishing diet, as well as promoting and completing the feeding of minors with snacks. Likewise, Cruz Red Cruz was delivered last year at Castilla Y León 17,400 AIDS from the first necessity to 6514 families, both economic to buy food and direct delivery of food products.

More twice than families
The average risk of poverty and exclusion (AROPE) reflects the families served by the Red Cross (90.8 % in 2024, an increase of +0.6 % compared to 90.2 % in 2023, which was published in social vulnerability No. 33 and No. 30 of the living) of the red cross) compared to the large population of statistics (25.8 % for living areas) (I) 2024).
The commitment that gives the results
During the 2024 campaign, Alcampo and Cruz Red managed to collect 22,300 euros in the Solidarity Campaign and Small meals #Concorazón held from April 5 to 11 at Alcambo 82 center in Castilla Y León.

In total, in 2024, the amount of 231,525 euros was delivered to the Red Cross with the help of nearly 2,700 volunteers. For its part, Alcampo, as in previous versions, donated more than 110,000 euros, Naintod and 3000 euros each.
Since the beginning of the “Concorazón” campaign, support has been supported by thousands of families in weakness. This campaign lived two phases: Between 2013 and 2020, there were only foods for breakfast and snacks that develop from 2021 to collect economic donations to facilitate personal purchases for families.
