Bellim crosses the restructuring process in all sectors of the local economy. Topics such as sustainable development and entrepreneurship is high. For the president of the Para Trade Association (ACP), Elizabete Grunvald, in 2025 represents a unique opportunity to put Pará and Amazon at the World Discussions Center, in addition to strengthening the productive sector by planning, training and investment.
In an interview with the liberal group, I mentioned that Idrak United Nations Conference on Climate Change in 2025 (COP 30) In the Pará capital requires an unprecedented mobilization for all sectors, but it also opens its doors to build a new development course.
“This is the first time that a policeman will be held in the Amazon, and we need to be at the level of this moment. We face a historical opportunity to show the world what we can build with organization, union and strategy.”

What do you expect from this year 2025, which was a very time in time for all areas here in Para?
Elizabeth Gonfald: I really think that the appearance of the COP 30 climate conference in Belém is a great window of opportunities. It is a window of opportunities for the productive sector in terms of work. It is a very important moment for Brazil, Amazon and Bara, in order to put our instructions, our issues.
This is the first time that the conference was held in Brazil, and the first time that Belém has received a major event in this way. Therefore, took a look at this moment from the moment we knew that CO will be in Belém there in the middle of 2023, we started organizing ourselves because it is a very important moment of the commercial opportunities of the state and the city. Of course, with this prosperity COP30 and this door opens all over the world, because Belém is really in the center, and they are Amazon and Bethlehem in the center of these discussions all over the world.
What are the expectations of the commercial sector? Will the demand grow a lot? How is the sector prepared?
I think we have developed a lot last year, well? Once again, when we knew there in mid -2013, we started organizing ourselves within the Commercial Association.
We have a council in the sectoral council and we have already started organizing within the sectoral tourism room, cooking art room, environment and sustainability, insurance, real estate market, and pharmaceutical materials.
Therefore, we have many weapons within the commercial association and these weapons began to organize, with every camera that discusses its segment, and how we can enjoy each other better to enjoy this moment, but above all to organize the productive sector, to be ready to welcome these people, to receive this very important event for us.
During the past year, we had many procedures in this regard, and we organize ourselves. We were able to discuss with the financial market entities and credit opportunities with more competitive fees. We also discussed a complete organization for this short rental market, which is one of COP solutions.
We are discussing, yes, with the hotel sector improvement of the hotel’s capacity. Therefore, we are talking about modernization in hotels. We are talking about initiatives and stimulating new hotels, as a request, and that the city’s hotel supplies are still much lower than we expect to have tourist potential in the city. Therefore, we are working hard on this legacy.
I want to tell you that we are, not only in the Commercial Association, but all business entities, especially the Commercial Association, are working hard so that the productive sector is better organized, so that the productive sector can understand that this is an opportunity to replace Para and the city of Belim on the global tourist road.
How do you prepare the hotel sector to increase demand during the policeman?
Look, throughout the past year, we had many measures in this regard, and we organize ourselves. We discussed financial market entities and credit opportunities in more competitive fees. We discussed the organization of this short rental market, which is one of the police solutions. We are discussing, yes, with the hotel’s hotel sector, then we are talking about the update adjustment in hotels and stimulation of new hotels, as the city’s hotel supplies in the city are still much short of what we expect to have tourist potential in the city. Therefore, we are doing a lot of this legacy.
Do you think the training will be a decisive factor for COP success?
Well, the gain to live at such a moment is exactly the preparation of the sector, and more professionalism in procedures, in products. When we learned that we will receive a policeman, the state government created a platform called Capacita Cop30, with the help of all business entities. So we built this process together, and we have about 30,000 vacancies.
We expect that there will be about 30,000 people trained and most importantly: for free, in at least 67 activities. That is, we are talking about the hotel, waiter, maître, restaurant, store, air conditioning maintenance, electrician, plumbing.
In any case, all activities that involve one way or another on the production chain, especially tourism. Until last month, we managed to train about 15,000 people, and our goal by the end of the year was to reach about 30,000. So this is a very important work. Because, look, forest, is a procedure that adds value.
When you better build your business, when you have a better service, when you have a better understanding of financial management and inventory control, you necessarily sell more. And when you sell more, you can invest more in your business and grow. So this is our role: improving the business environment. This training procedure adds a value that exceeds the policeman.
The goal, of course, is to better prepare for this event, but our whole work is not only for the time of the policeman. All our work is to improve the business environment, for the best structure and opportunities for the productive sector.
What about the issue of residency, what is done?
Hosting is a very big challenge. I have always said that, with the exception of the world’s great storms, there is no city completely ready to receive 50,000 people in a short period of 15 days. But this is a topic that we have prepared a lot for.
Within the Commercial Society, we have a real estate room and one of the descriptions and residential units to discuss, even, the lease contract by a short season, which is one of COP solutions. In addition to the hotel and vacancies sector in hotels, we need other solutions that would constitute this amount of residence we need for this event.
We are discussing the lease contract for a short season, prices … suddenly, will your home put a million dollars for rent? I said, “No, Gabi, your home is not worth a million.” You will need to talk to a property, with a broker, to guide you, to better manage this to evaluate your property. Someone will say, “Gabi, your property is not equal to a million. Let’s evaluate this.
Therefore, we calculate a lot with the real estate market, real estate brokers, real estate and owners, so that we do reasonable prices. Of course, we know that prices will rise, because they are cultural in big events.
But we really need to believe that if we practice abusive prices – then I talk about the short season and the hotel sector – we can shoot at the foot of the market, the city and the conference, but especially the legacy that we want to leave to the city. Because we expect those people who will discuss climate change.
You may return with their families, and return with their friends – this is where we bet a lot as a heritage of the city: that Pelim, the state of Para, will enter the Amazon region the global road again, so that we can motivate this market and warm.
So I want to tell you that we are evaluating many possibilities.
We are in a continuous dialogue with the hotel sector to align all this, to understand how available. Because we heard a lot: “Oh my God, there is no longer a hotel in the city, there is no more rooms in the city, how will we receive?” Therefore, the hotel sector is self -management. Of course, this sector suffered a lot throughout the epidemic because hotels closed the doors.
Yes, they had to reorganize internally, to make the update modification. They invest a lot in improving the two -year -old units. And you know what the unit is stopped for two years – how much it deteriorates. So, of course, hotels face it difficult to reorganize in this process, and thus the prices increase.
It is a challenge to organize all this. The state government has a government committee, the city committee, and the extraordinary honesty of the Presidency of the Republic also has a committee. Therefore, these three cases, along with the productive sector, were very close to these challenges and see how we can work to reduce and reduce these problems.
What are the sectors that you think will be more required while preparing for a policeman?
This is exactly. You cannot say that at this moment, there is a more important sector than the other, because everything is part of one group. By the time when I get a tourist, conference delegate or foreign delegation, this delegation needs to stay, and needs nutrition, and the need for urban movement – then we talk about transportation, buses and cars.
This delegation can eventually face a health problem, and we will need to ensure medical attention. You will need more flights, so we are talking about air access. It will arrive through an airport that needs to be leaving and more appropriate landing room. You will need a connection.
So, see: There are many sectors. You can not look at one just and say it’s more important. Now all this is organized, yes.
