The typical town of Salamanca, which turned its slaughterhouse into artwork

Old Las Del Conde is a building in the transformation process. The interior is now a municipal warehouse. Outside, their wiping walls are released with a mosaic of ceramic pieces that inquire about people’s identity.
Dishes, vessels, animals, flowers, and bot are intertwined, and even the first letters of the city with AC/DC printing, in a three -dimensional game of shapes and colors that call for meditation. Each piece, with its unique texture and shape, tells a story, a process, a contribution to people’s lives.
Everything began when the municipality mayor Maria Marilyn asked for two walls in the city. These types of works are increasingly common and often have aesthetic and subject that has nothing to do with the identity of the place or the neighbors themselves. This is something that the little artist wanted to avoid.
From the city council, they give it freedom to create what you want, immediately it has an idea and goes to a partner that participates with the standards with it and their complementary studies.
I graduated in fine arts, with a master’s degree in artistic production and a doctorate studies in the history of art. In addition, it specializes in identity issues and its complexity in this project is a good Mario Valle, as it comes out in fine arts, anthropologists and specialized in land and landscapes.
Experience and “Are People”
They have already thought of trying a ceramic mural and doing a cooperative work on “people’s action.” This is the ideal opportunity to do this.
First of all, they start documenting the ceramic in Sierra de France, looking for a base, but not to establish it and without pretending to be ethnic approach. They discover that cities closest to the counting homes in which they worked were Tamams and heavy, although there was also a rental in San Martin del Castinar and Vatter making utensils and Castius in Miranda.
Artists also call Salamanca Alfarero Gerado Cambronero, Professor of Ceramics in the La Vega neighborhood with great experience in this field.
Then they decide to develop three workshops with the neighbors in November and December 2024. They want to learn in this process as two mediators, and not as ceramics experts, among all the pieces that produce this original mural.
In this way, they get the participation of about thirty people, which is a very large amount given that in the winter, the city’s population is very small. Initially, the participants were afraid not to do a good job, but they released them and enjoyed the experience, according to the artists.
Unbeatable authorship in coral works
But many pieces are needed, as many come from other Gerado workshops, their own experimenting and cooperation with other artists’ friends.
A good part of the elements that make up murals have an experimental start, deformation of traditional clay pieces when they are still soft, drawn, and reshape them. Some are made of lathe and others without it. Using different cooking systems.
They are looking for a balance between the traditional and contemporary expression that dialogue with the scene and the identity of people. The result is many objects of the textures, shapes and different colors that Maria and Mario hits on the walls. Among them is “a sheep and a knife, as well that the building was the city’s slaughterhouse,” as they indicate. And since they do not miss anything, there are also leftovers of broken pieces that are placed in the holes stuffed with luxury.
In this participatory mural, the authorship of the work is very clear. These two young men say that this is the case, because “this is what happens in handicrafts and with the transition of common.”
In March, they hope to end all the walls, although they realize that the real term cannot be predicted because the process is complicated. They make pieces, cook them, put them. There are also the waiver pieces. There is a lot that is necessary to cover the walls so that it is not a simple task to get them. They will only leave the stone wall pieces and the regulations that affect one of them and that the neighbors want to continue to use it to sit.
A mural change with light, wind and rain
The rain is also late in this work, which hopes to be accompanied by the QR code in which visitors can know all the information about their creation and the names of the number of people who cooperated.
They also thought about the opening form: a performance act, it will have a pottery exhibition so that the attendees see how they become and hope that they will contribute to their grains from the sandy of the sand, the sculptors of the city.
Currently, the city’s residents enjoy seeing progress at work. Every day they discover something between hundreds of the pieces they have. In addition, they check how to make lights and shades other than every day, and even different moments of day, making work completely different.
You can also enjoy the wall painting with the ear, because the wind or rain causes it to emissions, from the first yellow to Tintineo that the second gets.
Being composed of clay pieces, the work raises the nature and eurology of people causes many views, depending on the area from which it is observed. “The wall of a cave may look like,” says creators.
There are not much proposals, a bridge between art, nature, confusion, and setting aside the topics and referring to people in the region and trade. Magic coincides between art and crafts for multi -sensation enjoyment. A mural you hear, note, live, and call for imagination. A legacy for the future and a new attractiveness for the Count homes.
