Organized by Junitec – Junior Company of Instituto Superior Técnico, Tecstorm 2025, is the largest university Hackathon in the country seven projects and He broke the participation records, totaling 550 records, 36 partners and obtaining 480 visitors. In the list of winners in the ninth version, there is Startups Trainai, Watts Better, Vision Aid, Aqua Lab and Shop Wise. “The projects submitted exceeded all expectations, which indicates how innovation and young talent can have a real impact on society,” says Mavalda Costa, director of the Junitec Project.
For the three -day technology marathon, more than 130 university students were collected from all over the country at the Training Center in Lisbon. 32 projects were developed and completed, and were distributed by five categories that were in competition: delivery, energy, comprehensive movement, sustainable construction, health and well -being.
The organization, which was supported by Vodafone, Galp, BRISA, Mext and Sonae, chose as a sponsor for each category, projects based on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. In this sense, in the communication category, Trainai won the OSCE simulation platform with hypothetical patients with advanced artificial intelligence, who are able to interact in a natural, rapid and realistic way with medical students.
In the energy category, Watsbetter won an application of artificial intelligence and machine learning monitoring electricity and gas prices in actual time. For comprehensive mobility category, highlighting the project Visionaid, with smart mathematical vision glasses that help disrupt visualization, detect objects, read texts and use GPS to increase their independence and transportation.
For a sustainable construction, Aqualab provided a tawaaf drone, and its goal includes environmental monitoring and data collection on water quality. Finally, the health and luxury category has been highlighted, an application that allows you to create a dedicated profile based on recording and compliance with food restrictions, which is automatically verified when adding the product, through RFID and IA sensors that warn when food incompatibility appears.
The differences were not in the categories. Shopwise was the best stadium. Mute Motion won the Best Primary Form Award, in which case a solution maintains the basic warning signs outside the ambulance, without increasing improper tension inside the cabin. the Solar Farm won a more sustainable prize, as it combines smart sensors, the Internet of Things for central control and remote control, and AI algorithms for a precise diagnosis of plant health.
Tecstorm was created in 2017 and has already led to the competition More than 700 participants, the distribution of more than 50 thousand euros in the prizes.
