Quran site design: Bakrid or sacrifice festival is an Islamic festival celebrated in India and other Muslim population areas in the world. Since this festival depends on the Islamic calendar, it is not celebrated on the same date every year. This festival respects the loyalty of the Prophet Abraham, when God ordered him to sacrifice his son Ismail. This important festival in India is a day of reverence and respect. It is also a great opportunity for Indian Muslims to get rid of their friends and family members by taking a vacation. To test Abraham, God ordered Abraham to sacrifice Ismail. In the end, Ibrahim realized that this request was in fact the word of God. Soon after, Ibrahim brought him to the top of Mount Arafat. Full with sadness and hesitation, Ibrahim Ismail linked an altar. Ibrahim closed his eyes and stabbed a dagger in sacrifice. When his eyes were opened, a dead ram was lying on the altar instead of Ismail. Abraham initially suffered from a great shock and I think he will punish him by God for not sacrificing his only with his only. God emphasized that he can loyal to Abraham and can preserve Ismail. Ibrahim was very grateful, so he devoted the rest of his life to serve God. The sacrifice festival respects Abraham’s actions and sacrifices in this story.
