CMF awarded the winners of the “I Draw in the Garden” competition | Funchal News Madeira News – Information from everyone for everyone!

On Friday, May 23, the Funchal City Council was distinguished by the winners of the second edition of the “I Draw in the Garden” competition, an initiative merged into the National Gardens Day celebrations, which were celebrated on May 25. The award ceremony was held in the Nobel Hall in the city hall, and the presence of the council member with the environment Billero, Nadia Coelho was recorded.
During the session, Nádia Coelho said that the “competition” I paint in the garden “was born of the desire to make the youngest closer to the natural richness around them, from small green corners to the great gardens that wandered our city.”
The member of the Council also mentioned the technical quality of the works that were received in this edition, from seven schools in the province, and praised “special attention to the details of the nature that the participants showed: The Flowers, The Trees, The Ducks, the religious memorial, an icon in one of our gardens, but above all, the magic of existence.”
The competition, as referred to in the mayor, encouraged students to develop a creative and contemplative relationship with the city’s gardens, and also encourages the participation of the family and made it known to the municipal gardens, thanks to the students’ participation in the competition. Through observation and plastic expression, the participants were challenged to think critically about the multiple experiences that live in these green spaces.
Prizes were awarded for the three best works in the first -session categories, second and third sessions, secondary education, technology and/or professional. The winners received total checks for a total of 750 euros, for use to acquire school supplies.
The initiative enhances the commitment of the municipality of Al -Funchall to environmental education, young creativity and valuing urban green spaces.
The exhibition with the participating work will be clear at the Atrium of the Funchal City Countil by May 30.
