Rollemberg also provided details of the project that was developed in partnership with the Small and Brazilian business support service (Sebrae) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company (Embrapa) to plan equipment needs in four strategic fruit chains: ACAI, CuPuaçu, Babaçu and Chestnut. “We present to the Amazon fund a $ 104 million project so that Sebrae can buy this equipment, distribute cooperatives and do all training work.”

According to the Secretary, the Brazilian financial structure does not fully fulfill the characteristics of the biological economy, making it difficult to reach small producers and credit cooperatives. “The great challenge is to make public policy tools reach the young. For this, they must be bureaucratic, they must be facilitated,” he said. He criticized, for example, the fact that Finep is not funded after cooperatives that develop innovation.

Brazilian capabilities to replace fossil energies
