Senator Megia de Jesus (Republicans-Rab) proposes the law of exploiting the Amazon mouth economy

Senator Messi de Jesus (Republicans) presented draft law No. 1,247/2025, with standards and guidelines that allow sustainable exploitation of oil and gas at the Amazon estuary and in areas that are considered national energy security.
According to the legislative proposal, to explore oil and gas in the region, it will be necessary to conduct a detailed study on the effects of the environment, as well as a report explaining these effects.
The proposal also sets other rules, such as applying the principle of sustainable development, ensuring the reconciliation of economic growth, social justice and environmental protection; Adopting technologies and practices that reduce environmental and social effects to enhance the protection of affected ecosystems and traditional societies.
Also, according to the draft law, it is necessary to consider generating the direct social and economic benefits of the local population, including incentives of infrastructure, professional qualification and the development of sustainable productive activities; Enhancing national energy security, reducing regional inequality and increasing general gathering to the Union, states and municipalities.
