The Barra industry has a decline per month, but it grows in the past 12 months economy

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) was released on Tuesday (18) Monthly Regional Industrial Survey Data (PIM), which reveals a 3.9 % decrease in industrial production in Bara in December to January. The state is among the seven of 15 who were analyzed who recorded the decline in this period. In the national scenario, industrial production remained stable at 0 %. Among the countries with the highest negative impact, Para is second, behind Sao Paulo only, which decreased by 4.1 %. The Holy Spirit appears in third place, with a decline of 2.6 %.
Despite the monthly fall, the Pará industry recorded 0.9 % in January 2025 compared to the same period last year, which put the state in the fifth place among those who advanced, behind Santa Katarina, who grew 8.6 %, and Rio Grande de Sol, an increase of 8.1 %, Parana, which recorded 3.7 %, and Goiás, which was 3.4 growth %. In comparison between January 2025 and January 2024, three of the six industrial activities included in Pará growth showed: Metallurgy achieved 16.4 % in advance, and the manufacture of wooden products was 12.4 %, and the manufacture of drinks recorded an increase of 4.8 %. On the other hand, the manufacture of products, paper and paper remained stable, while the manufacture of non -metal metal products decreased by 4.8 % and the manufacture of food products decreased by 5.2 %.
In the past 12 months, the Pará industry has achieved 5.4 % growth, which is the third largest among the countries that have been analyzed. The transformation industry made 11.8 %, while the extractive industry grew by 4.3 %. Regional PIM, which was held since the 1970s, provides monthly indicators of the performance of the extraction and transformation industries in 17 units of union enjoying the participation of at least 0.5 % in the value of the national industrial transformation. The next disclosure of the regional PIM is scheduled, in February 2025, on April 8.
