The minimum taxes are very wealthy that would give Portugal 200 million | Taxes

The application of the minimum tax by 2 % to the wealth of those who have more heritage A study by the European Union Financial Observatory (European Union).
The idea launched by this independent entity in Brazil was already presented at the last group meeting, and this week, the observatory presented the accounts it has achieved for the capabilities of the revenue that can be collected by each country of a European Union, where various governments are now focused on finding ways to finance the strengthening of the military expenditures they wish to do.
The proposal includes the definition of the annual minimum to pay the wealthy in taxes. Current income taxes allow them to refer to those responsible for the observatory, that the richest on this planet is the goal of effective tax rates less than low -income taxpayers.
Consequently, they argue, it is better to determine the minimum value calculated by applying a 2 % rate to the total taxpayer wealth, “because wealth is easier than performance in the case of individuals with very high wealth.”
The study determines four scenarios, with differences in two variables, to estimate the amount of revenues that can be obtained by the states. Supposed taxes are 2 % or 3 %, and taxpayers or those who have more than 100 million euros or more than 1,000 million euros are applied as their assets.
In the proposed central scenario, where a 2 % average is applied to those who have a wealth of more than 100 million euros, the European Union countries will be able to generate additional tax revenues every year of 67.2 billion euros, a value that will decrease to 43.4 billion euros if the goals are only 537 people in EUS with 1,000 euros.
France and Germany, without a surprise, will be the two countries that will get larger revenues, while Portugal appears in the last places at the table.
According to the study, this procedure, when applied to taxpayers who are more than 100 million euros, will bring to Portuguese general treasures more than 200 million euros of tax revenues. The value will decrease to about 100 million euros, if it is applied only to those who have a wealth of more than one billion. In this case, the observatory found only in Portugal is one person, where the total assets are estimated at 5.7 billion euros.
The authors of the study indicate that in the European Union, a “tax of no less than 2 % of” billionaires “would neutralize the decline in tax systems” and will allow “a value equivalent to a quarter of the revenues that Stifling Brugel can be necessary to achieve investment goals in defense. “
