The US Consulate General of Casablanca called on its citizens in Morocco to “pay attention and avoid the next demonstrations which should start from Place Bab Al-Sunday in Rabat this morning, in favor of the Palestinian cause and our solidarity with the Palestinians.
And the American diplomatic representative himself warned, in an official declaration that the demonstrations “could witness a great presence, which can lead to the congestion of traffic and the closure of certain streets in the areas where enormous rallies are witnesses at the level of the administrative capital of the Kingdom of Morocco”.
“These demonstrations are generally peaceful, but large crowds can make the situation unpredictable, with the possibility of security tensions if the security forces intervene to prevent gatherings,” the Wasablanca consulate in Casablanca told Casablanca.
She also advised her employees and American citizens present in Morocco to “avoid these areas during the afternoon and evening” and invited them to “follow the local media to obtain the latest updates and stay away from large crowds, with the need to carry personal identity and compliance with the directives of Moroccan security men”.
In a related context, the consulate highlighted the importance of recording in the “step” program for safe travelers to obtain the latest security information, calling general citizens who hold American citizenship to contact the Rabat Embassy or the Consulate in Casablanca if necessary.
These American warnings are parallel to the invitation of certain human rights associations and organs to organize a national march in the city of Rabat, Sunday morning, in order to “defend the right of Palestinians to security and to reject the plans of travel and operations on the ground that the Israeli part continues to carry out, in particular in the Gaza Strip”. “”
