GOLAND: “If we renounce territorial integrity, we open Pandora’s box,” says António Costa

At a time when tensions about the interest of the United States grow in Groelândia, the president of the European Council emphasized that “respect for internationally recognized borders is a universal principle.”
If Europe makes a concession on the issue of territorial territory, it runs the risk of opening a pandora box with repercussions worldwide, said António Costa, at a time of growing tension with the United States on the future of Gronelândia.
“First we must respect the territorial integrity of Denmark and we must respect the right of self -determination of the people of Bulnelândia,” said the president of the European Council on Tuesday.
“This is of the utmost importance, not only for Europe, but for everyone,” he added. “If we renounce territorial integrity, we open a pandora box in the world from Asia to the Americas.”
Granelândia, a semi -automated territory that is part of the kingdom of Denmark, is again at the Center for Attention after Usha Vance, the wife of the vice president of the United States, JD Vance, has announced his intention to visit the island and make a series of cultural stops such as seeing the National Dog Race Trained. The arrival of the second lady is scheduled for Thursday.
The United States delegation will also include Mike Waltz, National Security Minister, and Chris Wright, Secretary of Energy, who will travel separately.
The visit brought the fears that the United States, under the leadership of Donald Trump, seeks to attach bulk. Trump refused to exclude the possibility of using economic coercion and military force to confiscate the extensive territory, considered highly strategic due to its location in the Arctic Sea and the His rich depositsof mineral resources.
The threat of Trump has put the EU on the limit and has put tension on the transatlantic alliance, which is already being tested by another territorial dispute: the invasion of Ukraine of Russia.
“Respect for internationally recognized borders is a universal principle,” Costa said in his speech during an event organized by the European Policy Center (EPC).
“We must respect the sovereignty and self -determination of the different peoples and this is essential to live in an order based on rules,” he added.
“The alternative to order -based order is chaos and chaos is very dangerous for humanity, business (e) for the future. We need to preserve a rules based order and then everything can work.”
The Costa Warning arises after critical observations made by Gronz’s Prime Minister, must Egede, and the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, who described the visit of Usha Vance as unwanted and inappropriate.
Qualify the trip of “Highly aggressive” and “in no way” harmless, Egede paid special attention to the presence of Mike Waltz’s trip, the National Security Minister.
“What is the bulk security counselor
Frederiksen referred to Egede’s comments in an interview on Tuesday, saying that it is “of course when a visit is made in this way, and Gronz’s politicians clearly say that they do not want the visit, this cannot be interpreted as respectful.”
“I have to say that the pressure that is being exerted on bulk and Denmark in this situation is unacceptable. And it is a pressure to resist.” Frederiksen said to Dane Media.
“You can’t make a private visit with official representatives from another country,” he said.
Trump says that the visit has to do with “friendship, not provocation”, but continues to frame his interest in the island through national and international security lenses, which reinforces the impression that a military invasion is not totally out of place.
“I think Gronelândia will be something that may be in our future. I think it is important (for) international security, Trump said Monday.” It will not continue as it is.
