Brussels, my love? Defense is the opportunity for Portuguese companies

This week we discussed defense and security in Europe, tariff war between the United States and the European Union and the political situation in Portugal after the fall of the Government in Parliament.
In this second edition of “Brussels, my love?” In Portuguese, we invite Rui Faria da Cunha (mayor of Portuguese -Belga), Rita Siza (journalist – correspondent of the public) and Paulo Dentinho (journalist, RTP correspondent in Brussels).
“This is a great opportunity for Portuguese companies. As a famous saying says, when we blow winds, we have two possibilities: or we will build wind walls or mills. If we can establish associations with other European companies, it is essential to make companies answer and with quality to the challenges that will come with this butt of Europe” Rui Fara Da Cunha argue affirmatively and with the quality of the challenges that will come with this challenges that will come with this challenges “Rui Fara da Cunha
Paulo Dentinho points out that “this total change of the new administration of the United States has sprayed all the predictability that was on the table and this makes European allies interrogate in the future. On the rearme plan, it is necessary to attract measures to attract European capital and know what conditions are that the Portuguese government will not know. We do not know and now even less.”
Rita Siza warns about the additional risk of Russia’s reaction: “Within NATO framework, although the president of the United States constantly constitutes respect for article 5 of collective defense, procedures are worked widely, in case of imminent threat or even a direct attack against an ally, and the United States barely withdraw with their commitment to NATO.”
This debate was recorded on March 12 in Brussels, shortly after the leadership of the motion of confidence in the Assembly of the Republic in Portugal.
