The former Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, counted the financial losses of his country in order not to implement the nuclear agreement, while describing the situation in his country as “dangerous”, was likely that the guidance wings Khamenei changed his position on negotiations with Washington “affected by circumstances”.
During his meeting with former ministers, Rouhani declared that “the guide (Ali Khamenei) does not oppose negotiations on the nuclear program, influenced by current circumstances, but after a few months he could agree with different circumstances”.
The former Iranian president added: “We have not negotiated with America in Iraq and Afghanistan? The guide was also a witness and an observer.
Great losses of Iran
Rouhani described sanctions as a serious problem for the Iranian economy, saying: “We lose at least 100 billion (dollars) every year since the United States retired from the nuclear deal”.
Rouhani described the situation in the country as “dangerous”, in particular with “the weakness of military deterrence ability, which was deepened after preventing internal differences.
The former president criticized “the chaos of the decision system in Iran in various sectors”, saying: “Anyone who looks from abroad understands what is happening in this country and believes that it seems that it has no plan”.
Rouhani said that the solution to Iranian economic problems is not possible without a constructive participation with the world, according to a video published by the website of the former president.
The video, Muhammad Jawad Zarif, who recently resigned from his position as Vice President Masoud Bouchakian, appeared due to the pressure of the conservative current in the Iranian Parliament.
Previously, Zarif said he had negotiated with the American part on Iraq in coordination with Qassem Soleimani, a former commander of the “Forza Quds”, who is affiliated to the Iranian “revolutionary guards”.
Bazshkian is under pressure from his reformist and moderate allies – led by the former reformist president, Mohamed Khatami, and relatively moderate Hassan Rouhani – as regards the push for negotiations with the United States.
On February 7, the ALI Guide Khamenei said that the talks with the United States “do not come from acumen, wisdom or honor”, in declarations explained in the Iranian political space as orders to ban any direct interviews with Trump.
Khatami asked negotiations, but said that “negotiations and dialogue does not mean bowing to extort the enemy and his authority”. Rouhani said: “Some are martyred that the revolutionary guide opposes negotiations,” said Rouhani.
Khatami added: “The guide is not contrary to the principle of negotiations, but according to the circumstances of the time, it can oppose today, but after a few months and with the change of circumstances, it can agree. There is no absolute opposition.
“It makes no sense in negotiations”
The head of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament has excluded “any feasibility of the negotiations, unless the interests of Iran are achieved”.
And the Iranian television “al -am” mentioned the president of the Ibrahim Azizi committee, saying, on Saturday, that “Tehran does not refuse the principle of dialogue and negotiation”, adding that “Iran should avoid any useless steps”.
For his part, Ali Larijani, a member of the “diagnosis complex”, underlined that US officials have two options: “face respect on the basis of common economic interests or fall into the trap of the belief that the clash with Iran will be low -cost”.
“The Iranian people depends on their decisions on a fair approach, since he is a lover of peace, but does not give up their interests”.
Russian mediation
In Moscow, the Russian representative for international organizations in Geneva Mikhail Ololnov said on Saturday that he had discussed with the general manager of the Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, issues relating to the Iranian nuclear program. Olianov did not mention the details of what happened during the meeting.
The entry of Russia into the line through an intermediation proposal to push the negotiations on Iranian nuclear power was an important change that reflects the presence of a condemnation for the Kremlin, according to which the new relations with the Trump administration can lead to a “global agreement” of file to the agenda of the two countries.
The American mission to the United Nations announced, at the beginning of this month, that Washington is committed to continuing the implementation of the “maximum pressure” strategy pursued by President Donald Trump. “President Trump explained that the Iranian nuclear program represents a threat to international peace and security,” added the mission in a declaration regarding a meeting of the Security Council regarding Iran.
