The accident occurred a few hours after the parliamentary elections to be held this Monday in Canada. The political leaders of the country, with Prime Minister Mark Carley in the lead, began to give their condolences. Carney’s rival, Pierre Poiievre, stated “shocked by the terrible news that emerged from the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver tonight”.

In the first press conference after the accident, the main acting of the Vancouver police, Steve Rai, identified the prisoner as a 30 -year -old man, known by the security forces “in certain circumstances”. Rai did not want to create an exact number of victims because they were “sent to several hospitals in the region”.
