ASHARQ residents al -awsat spoke of the growing phenomenon, accusing the Houthi group of using disappearances as a means of political and social extortion and imposing the reality of recruiting force.
One of the residents, called Khairi, said that the Governorate turned during the last period in an “open square” to kidnap the teenagers, accusing Houthi’s leaders of being behind the disappearance, especially after the parents refused to send their children to the fields.
Khairi added that Houthi are trying to transform children into “human shields” in the face of American strikes and to invest later in the political and humanitarian discourse, observing that dozens of young people have been kidnapped by different areas of Bhasar and have been subjected to intellectual and military mobilization without the knowledge or approval of their families.
The leader of Houthi, Mohammed al -bakhiti, appointed governor of Dhamar, has pushed hundreds of recruits in recent years, most of whom are children, marginalized and African refugees, to the fighting lines through the group’s military patrols.
Activists warn that the continuation of this policy endangers life to thousands of children and young men and threatens the social fabric of the Darhar Governorate, who rejects the vast majority of its inhabitants, pushing their children into wars who have nothing to do with them.
