This is the new digital identifier that can be downloaded on the mobile phone

The digital identifier is already a reality. On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers approved a royal decree to issue this new document, which can be used through the mobile phone application called Midni. This coordination will be implemented in several stages, as Interior Minister Fernando Grande Marlaska announced.

In the first stage, which will start this Wednesday after publishing in the Bank of England, the digital identifier will allow the identity of its owner before the agents or public officials, in the façade (legal or administrative) procedures, in reaching public or private spaces, in the opening of bank accounts or in the signature of Deades before they are nevertheless. Among other activities, it can be used to register in a hotel institution, rent a car, attend a concert or gather a post pack. In this way, the digital identifier will allow all of these destinations to rely on the identity that is now implemented with the physical card.

In the second stage, which was established for one year, it will also prove identity in Internet procedures, such as remote efforts or electronic signatures. “It will have full jobs,” said Marlaska. “Spain is entering a selection of European countries that already have systems that allow you to prove identity over a mobile phone,” the minister said. Actual coordination will live with digital identity through a mobile phone, which does not replace the traditional card.

To get the digital identifier, it is necessary to complete three stages. First, a previous record must be made unambiguously with the citizen’s identity with a mobile phone number that allows the Midni application to be downloaded, the DNI default identification and check the process.

The Ministry of Interior also clarified, registration can be made through the website www.midni.gob.es, in any of the document updates (PAD) at police or municipalities and in 290 documentation units for the national police.

In these places, the citizen of the path of access will be informed of the discharge application and during the discharge, it will be verified that DNI is associated with this phone number through the single use symbols that the user must use to finish the correct link. You can just connect one identifier to a mobile phone number.

After registering and downloading the application, it will be possible to display the identifier. The MIDNI application does not maintain the citizen’s identity data, but through it, the DNI Management Unit is consulted in actual time. When consulting, the DNI owner may decide the data he wants to show based on the use he wants to provide and the end of identity verification: age, which will appear the image, name and majority era; Simple DNI, which will reflect photography, name, nickname, sex, DNI, and full DNI, which displays all data from the material document.

Once you choose the required information level, the application creates the QR code displayed on the Holder DNI screen and will remain visible for a short period of time to facilitate verification. After this period, it will lose its validity and it will be necessary to create a new code.
