At least nine deaths and more than 70 injured in a Russian attack against Kiev
At least nine people died and more than 70 were injured in an attack that Russia launched at dawn against the Ukrainian capital, reports the interior minister Igor Kloreko.
“At 7:30 (6:30 in Spain Peninsular), a total of nine people died in Kiev following a Russian attack. More than 70 immediately wounds of different considerations,” he writes in his Telegram account.
At least 42 people have been hospitalized, including six children, according to the state emergency service (DSN), while the search for people under the rubble of residential buildings continue that have been damaged in the attack.
According to the head of the military administration of the city of Kyiv, Timur Tkachenko, Russia has launched drones, guided missiles and ballistic missiles against the capital of Ukraine. The damages were recorded in several districts of Kiev, in particular that of Abbiathin, where there was a fire and partial destruction in two residential buildings. There were also fires in the garage, administrative buildings and commercial properties, according to Tkachenko and Dsns. Cars and dry grass are burned due to the fall in the fragments of the drones and exploited or demolished missiles.
Klimenko explained on Telegram that, in addition to Kyiv, Russia massively attacked the regions of Yitomir, Dnipropetrovsk, Járkov, Poltava, Jmelnitski, Sumi and Zaporiyia, but that Kyiv was the one who suffered most. “The situation in the District of Abichin was tragic. The debris of a destroyed house are still removed. The engineers, the lifeguards and search dogs intervene. The phone calls are listened to under the debris (…),” he says. There is also information about two children who still don’t appear instead of the attack, he adds.
The night attack against Kiev took place after Ukraine has repeatedly requested a truce in missile attacks and long distance drones against civil infrastructures that Russia has refused to declare. (Efe)
