Construction starts on the Mérida arts district in Yucatán

The state of Yucatán has attracted nearly 7 billion pesos (348 million US dollars) to real estate projects in the capital of the State of Mérida, while the current administration seeks to increase support from the housing sector.

The Joaquín Díaz Mena government inaugurated the Residential mayya point Project in Ucú, located northwest of the city. The project cost a total of 5.5 billion pesos (274 million US dollars).

In a separate event, Díaz laid the cornerstone of the second building Merida art district (Mérida art district) complex, with an investment of more than 1.3 billion pesos ($ 64 million).

In an event that took place later in the day, Díaz laid the cornerstone of the second building of the Mérida Art District. In a speech, he reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to promote policies that encourage productive investment, create quality jobs and strengthen the economic and social fabric of the community.

The real estate project will create more than 350 direct and indirect jobs and “strengthen the tourist and service infrastructure of the entity,” said Díaz. Development includes more than 10,000 square meters of commercial space, a 120 -room hotel that will be operated by the Voco brand, and a hectare public park, funded and maintained thanks to private investments.

This project is part of the first phase of the Merida Art District initiative, which has already experienced an investment of $ 15 million in the construction of a business center that would open in May.
