The Vatican prepares the funeral of Pope Francis

Pope Francis died due to a stroke and an irreversible cardiovascular arrest, according to the death certificate published by the Vatican doctor Andrea Arcangeli.
The document also establishes that the Pope entered a coma before he died. In addition to the recent lung infection, Arcangeli declared that Francis suffered high blood pressure and diabetes.
The 88 -year -old pontiff had recently spent five weeks in a hospital in Rome fighting in double pneumonia that put him at risk of life, but returned to the Vatican and the lighter tasks at the end of March.
It was not the first time that he had lung problems, Francisco suffered a chronic pulmonary disease throughout his life. A part of the lung was transferred to him when she was young.
Francisco made a last public appearance on Easter Sunday to bless thousands of people in the Plaza de San Pedro.
The Vatican says that the public can begin to pay a last tribute to Pope Francis since Wednesday in the Basilica of San Pedro. But the exact date will be confirmed after the cardinals meet for the first time after their death on Tuesday morning.
Francisco’s coffin will be transferred from the Domus Santa Marta chapel, where he lived, to the Basilica of San Pedro to be seen by the public.
Contrary to tradition, and as requested by the late Pope, the body will not be placed in a high coffin, but in a wooden coffin in front of the banks.
Before he died, Francis also expressed the desire to be buried in the Basilica of Santa MarÃa Maggiore (Santa MarÃa Maior), where her image of the Virgin Mary is, whom she had a deep devotion.
Although a specific date for funeral has not been solved, it must be maintained between four and six days after death.
However, the Vatican is in “vacant thirst”, that is, the period between the death of a Pope and the choice of another.
To mark the beginning of this period, Pope Francis’s formal apartment was sealed with a red ribbon and wax, in a ritual that is a fundamental part of tradition.
Vatican’s employees put a bureaucracy in the handles of the apartment doors in the apostolic palace, then liquid wax in the loop and printed Francisco’s papal seal to keep it closed.
To choose a new Pope, cardinals around the world will meet for the conclave. The voting process is carried out in secret and generally lasts between two and three weeks.
However, it can take more time if the cardinals have difficulty reaching a consensus about a candidate.
The conclave is expected to begin at least 15 days and a maximum of 20 days after the death of the Pope.
