A National Health Control Agency (AnVisa) Prohibited Selling, distributing and publishing Dietary supplements Foods containing Ora-FOR NIIBIS. The decision, which was published in the Federal Official Gazette this Thursday (3), also requires the collection of these products.

According to AnVisa, the ban is due to marketing and advertising these nutritional supplements, which do not meet the current technical standards. The agency confirmed that Ora-PRO-Nobis is not authorized as a component of nutritional supplements.

The Ministry of Health is classified as an unconventional food plant (PANC). Its name, which means “por Ars” in Latin, also arises from TUPI-QuArani, as it indicates a plant that produces fruits with thin thorns. The plant is widely used in the traditional kitchen of some areas of Minas Gerais and Goiás, especially in colonial historical cities.
