The mayor of Fonachal, Christina Pedra, announced today the tenth edition of the chocolate market, which will be held in the farmers market, between April 14 and 17. The initiative is held on Easter and also includes the eighth edition of the “best chocolate cake from Funchal”.
Edil said that this 4 -day event will consist of two initiatives: the chocolate market itself and the best chocolate cake competition.
Funchal municipality decided to enhance the programming of the chocolate market, with the creation of a space for workshops, tests and taste, as well as achieving many objective activities related to chocolate and Easter time, says note.
“This is an essential way to implement, attract and loyal to the farmers market,” says Christina Pedra.
The “Best Chocolate Cake” competition, which will be held on the last day of the event, April 17, will include two categories – amateurs and professionals – with six awards for the total value of 1300 euros.
The mayor mentioned the importance of the initiative as a way to evaluate traditional sweets and encourage commercial activity: “We want to reward those who make their work cooking and cooking themselves at this time, and they once again have an opportunity to develop their commercial activity.”
Christina Pedra also thanked the participation of the 12 brands in the chocolate market, as well as participating in various mobile animation activities, with highlighting the presence of Caco Bolo Do Caco Theatre, Uaucacau Brand, ABM – Barmen of Madeira Association and Traders of the Farmers Market.
