In the second chapter, Portugal assumes the leadership of the informal group established by the leading countries in digital works

Currently the presidency of the group D9+ in the hands of the NetherlandsToday, the Minister of Youth and Modernization, Margerida Palmero Lopez, was at the Ministerial Summit D9+, in Amsterdam, where the group passed to Portugal. It was already known that the transition from the folder will take place in the second half of 2025.
This is the first time that Portugal has assumed the presidency of this group of European Union countries that consider digital leaders in the European space. “This is an important moment to enhance Portugal’s position in digitization and modernization in the European context,” says a statement sent to the press.
At the top was signed Ministerial D9+, participated in all member statesAccording to joint information, the document “reflects the browser anxiety about the urgent need for private investment in the European digital economy”, taking into account the decisive role of digitization to accelerate efforts to improve economic and jius perspectives in Europe.
The group was created on September 5, 2016, on the initiative of Ann Life SwedishWho was the Minister of European Union Affairs and Minister of Foreign Trade, and obtained the appointment of the “Digital 9” group. Initially, he joined Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland and the United Kingdom, 9 of D-9.
He later welcomed new members, including Portugal, which entered October 2020Spain, Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, and the loss of the United Kingdom Leave the European Union. She currently has 13 member states, assigned as D9+.
The group members meet periodically to discuss the topics of interest and contributions that intend to contribute to the work of the European Commission and the European Union Council on the digital.
