The Ministry of Health will start this year in a national campaign to vaccinate from 15 to 19 years against the HPV, and rescue about 7 million young people who have not yet been immune. The campaign initially focuses on 121 municipalities with the least coverage of vaccination, which covers approximately 3 million unpleasant teenagers. The goal is to vaccinate at least 90 % of these population, including those who are not sure whether they will take the vaccine. In Para, this procedure has been underway since 2024. HPV is the virus responsible for nearly 100 % of cervical cancer cases, which is the third type of cancer most accident among Brazilian women. It can also cause cancer in the anus, penis, vaginal and throat. The vaccine currently available in the unified health system protects from the four sub -species that cause most cancer, as well as warts and wounds in the genitals.

SESPA also stated that municipalities are receiving monthly doses of the vaccine to fortify children and adolescents. The state also strengthened vaccination procedures in government and municipal schools to reach 90 % of the target audience.

The vaccine provides protection from sub -species HPV that causes cervical cancer, anal cancer, penis, vaginal warts and genital organs. Its greatest effectiveness occurs when applied before the beginning of sexual life, as the HPV is mainly transmitted by sexual contact.

Vaccination in Belim

HPV vaccination is part of the vaccination routine in all vaccination rooms in the municipality of Belim, according to the Municipal Health Secretariat (SESMA). Since April 2024, the state of Bara has expanded the age group, which covers young people up to 19 years old who have not yet been immunized.

“In Belém, this audience began to easily fortify this update and was constantly implemented, in order to ensure extensive vaccination coverage. Therefore, there are no additional doses of this audience, as the vaccination has already been effectively combined into the immunization routine in the municipality.”

The municipality’s vaccination goal is 88125 doses. To date, 23,652 doses have been applied in the age group from 9 to 14 years, covered 26.84 %, and 1243 doses in the age group from 15 to 19 years.

Is the vaccine effective in ages?

The doctor also states that, since July 2024, who in the HIV prevention program, using preparatory, can obtain the vaccine as part of the Ministry of Health program.

The condom is not enough to protect against HPVAn expert

HPV is largely transmitted and not limited to sexual act due to its spread, and warns of the world of injury. He explains that any kind of intimate contact or manipulation in genital areas can transmit the virus.

“Even with the use of a condom, there is no completely effective way to prevent infection, as the HPV can be transmitted by touching the genital lesions, which are rich in viruses.
