Taking advantage of Aveiro’s proposal for the adhesion to the International Museum Council, Celme Tavares, from the left block, criticized the lack of municipal support and the definition of the priorities of tourism for the conservation of cultural heritage. The Bloquista mentioned the increase in ticket prices, the lack of human resources and the degradation of buildings, including the recent fall of the tiles in the museum, and has warned the urgent need for public policies focused on the true conservation of the heritage rather than on the tourist exploitation of museums.
The left block considers that the recipients of Celme Tavares’ intervention are part of the work order. However, this complaint caused irritation within the PSD/CDS coalition, which accused the president of the municipal assembly, Luís Souto De Miranda, of allowing a discussion presumably outside the central theme. The protest was accompanied by the leader of the CDS bench and the mayor.
The left block vehemently condemns the attempt to condition its political activity, manifested by the reactions of the PSD/CDS coalition to the intervention of Celme Tavares.

The blocked intervention generated discomfort because it reflected a concrete reality and a wrong policy of the Municipality. It is a pity that while the PSD and the CDs say that the racial insult is acceptable within the Assembly of the Republic, they feel so annoyed by a legitimate criticism of the management of the cultural equipment of the Municipality.
This episode, even more, exposes the fragility of the right coalition, which, while crumbling in front of everyone, loses any cohesion and ability to face the problems that actually affect the population.
