The table of international elements of the countries (PTO), a new global indication of global stability, is developed by an Indian political expert and director of the company “Alpagio” for future studies and research, Morocco is in 65th place in the world on more than 200 countries, with 13.79 points, at the top of the list of North African countries at this level.
In this context, Algeria came in 69th place to the world, then the Arab Republic of Egypt, which ranked 78th; While Tunisia and Mauritania ranked 88 and 138 in the world. As for Libya, which has witnessed a political crisis since the fall of the Gaddafi regime, it came in a late position on the list.
At the level of the member states of the League of Arab States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exceeded the list after its arrival in the 24th in the world, followed by the United Arab Emirates, which presented themselves in 27th place; While Qatar, Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain came respectively in the 34th, 53 and 60th place in the world.
The global stability index depends on the subcontinalalists, the first concerns “state force”, and goes beyond taking into account the military capacities of the State, its population and its area, to also include its industrial structure, its energy resources, the size of the public debt, the investment climate, the stability of the currency, etc., which is the indicator in which the Morocco has obtained 8.72 points. With regard to the second sub-index, it is the “case” indicator, which, in addition to the institutional capacities of the State, its flexibility and its cohesion, concerns other criteria such as the rule of law, the quality of public services, food security and other factors which granted Morocco a positive drop with 5.07 points.
Switzerland is at the top of the world list, followed by Germany, Japan, South Korea, Sweden and the United States of America, which has entered the list of the ten most stable countries in the world; While Eritrea, Vatican and South Sudan came among the least stable geographic areas.
“There are better ways to classify states rather than classifying them according to their wealth or democracy,” said Barach Ghana, the new index developer in press statements.
Ghana explained that “the stability index concerns the combination of the strength of the state and its ability to assume responsibility”, stressing that “other indicators, which focus on the fact that countries are democratic, undemocratic, rich or poor, can be mysterious and involve a lot of generalization”.
In this regard, the developer of the new index to measure world stability said that “many countries occupied the advanced ranks of this indicator, although their systems are not democrats according to the Western concept”.
