The Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al -Safadi, met today, the Committee of Foreign Affairs and the Committee of Relations with Eastern countries in the European Parliament, a certain number of members of the International Trade Committee and the perpetrators of the total financial aid software for Jordan in the European Parliament.
Al -Safadi discussed in an interview with the committees, in which the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zina Touqan participated in the strengthening of relations of the Jordanian -European partnership and the situation in the region.
Al -Safadi, president of the Foreign Affairs Committee, thanked the deputy David Mcalaster and the deputies participating in the meeting for the continuous support of the European Parliament for the Kingdom, and affirmed the importance of reporting the strategic and complete partnership agreement between the Jordan and the European Union during the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the European Union on January 29, 2025.
Al -Safadi highlighted the importance of the axes of the agreement, the associated assistance packages and the need to start implementing the roadmap; To activate the new agreement, which includes the opening of wider horizons for cooperation in many areas, in particular political, economic, investment, security, defensive, immigration and refugees.
He thanked the specialized committees in the European Parliament for their support for the first total aid package for Jordan of 500 million euros, which the European Parliament will vote over the next two months.
He underlined the need to accelerate the procedures for the second package of the total financial aid of Jordan, amounting to 500 million euros, which was approved by the European Commission, in addition to the first package, which should be presented to the specialized committees in the European Parliament before the end of this year.
Safadi said that Jordan’s passion to improve friendship and partnership relations between Jordan and the European Union in various fields.
Touqan presented a presentation of cooperation programs between Jordan and the European Union, and the reform programs implemented by the Kingdom.
She confirmed the continuation of cooperation with the Federation and working to launch a roadmap to cooperate for the next step, making the maximum benefit from the complete strategic partnership agreement.
Touqan offered economic opportunities in Jordan and the development projects implemented by the Kingdom.
Al -Safadi put the European parliamentary committees in the form of the repercussions of regional crises on the Kingdom, and underlined in this context the need for international support of Jordan; To help him meet the needs of refugees.
During the meeting, Al -Safadi condemned the resumption of his assault against the Gaza Strip, and warned against the catastrophic pursuit of the continuation of the war, and which Israel continued to prevent humanitarian aid from entering the band.
Al -Safadi underlined the need for Israel to join the cease-fire agreement, which was made with Egyptian, Qataris and American efforts, and the application of all its stages.
Al -Safadi warned that the resumption of attack would only make more conflicts and suffering.
Al -Safadi stressed that the only peace that responds to the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and an independent state with sovereignty on their national soil on the basis of the two -state solution is the only means; To reach security for all parties.
He underlined in response to a question that all Arab countries confirmed that they were included in the security of Israel in the context of fair peace on the basis of the two -state solution, which has no other means of resolving the conflict.
Al -Safadi put the participants in the form of a catastrophic humanitarian abuse of aggression in Gaza.
Al -Safadi also warned that Israel would undermine the solution of the two countries by continuing to build colonies and to confiscate the Palestinian territories.
Al -Safadi also underlined the need to stand by the Syrian people in the reconstruction of their country on the foundations which guarantee their unity, security and sovereignty, and to preserve the rights of all its components after decades of suffering, noting the importance of the European role in the support of the new Syria, and at the end of the European Union of the Brussels Conference to support Syria yesterday; An important practical step in this direction.
Al -Safadi said that the Syrian people were able to reconstruct Syria and that international support is essential in the transition phase.
Al -Safadi called for the lifting of sanctions against Syria.
Al -Safadi also warned against the consequences of the occupation of Israel, the New land of Syria, and underlined the need for the withdrawal of Israel and respect for the confusion agreement for the year 1974 that the Syrian government confirmed its commitment.
He said that Israel pushes more conflicts by not respecting the agreement and occupying it on a Syrian land.
Al -Safadi also underlined the importance of supporting Lebanon, which began an additional step in activating its institutions and reconstruction after the election of a new president and Prime Minister. He stressed the importance of supporting the Lebanese army.
Al -Safadi also underlined the need for Israel to respect the cease-fire agreement with Lebanon, to implement its complete articles and to withdraw from occupied Lebanese land, according to the cease-fire agreement.
