The call “IRCPCS” occurred at an international conference entitled “North African children … to access education, protection and development”, organized on the sidelines of the fifty-session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, because it has warned of the growing phenomenon of kidnapping and exploitation of armed conflicts around the world.
The aforementioned center indicated that tens of thousands of children are exposed daily to deprivation of their childhood, because they are used as soldiers, spies, labor workers and even human shields; This constitutes a crime against humanity in accordance with international conventions.
He also revealed that the Tindouf camps, in the southwest Algeria, constitute one of the most important homes in which children have been recruited since 1982 by the militias of “Polisario”, where minors are subject to strict military and ideological education; Who deprives them of their most fundamental rights.
In this context, the organization “Maqashi and my son” condemned these serious violations, claiming that it “contradicts all international alliances; including the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Optional Protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflicts.
Najat Anwar, head of the organization “Maqash and my son”, invited the international community and human rights organizations in order to immediately put pressure on the parties involved in these inhuman practices to ensure the immediate release of the children recruited by force and guarantee their return safely to their families.
