April begins with a heat wave in Mexico

The SMN recommends that the public avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and wear light -colored clothes and long sleeves. Regular hydration is also recommended, as well as special attention to chronic patients, children and the elderly.

Strong winds (30 to 40 km / hour) are also planned for the northern states of Sonora, Chihuahua and Durango, with gusts reaching 60 to 80 km / hour.

The winding conditions should arouse coastal waters along the Baja peninsula in California and in the south to Colima and Jalisco, with waves reaching up to four meters high.

Oaxaca and Chiapas could see heavy rains (25-50 mm), said the SMN, while intermittent rain storms could fall up to 25 mm on Puebla, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Campeche and Quintana Roo, which could also live electric storms and hail.

The SMN warned residents of Oaxaca and Chiapas to pay attention to the warnings issued by local public security officials, recalling that heavy rains could cause muds and sudden floods.
