The Syrian actor Ayman Reda commented on the controversy on the use of daring and obscene words in the Syrian drama, the question which sparked a widespread division between those who consider it a reflection of reality and a dramatic necessity, and which considers it as a department of public taste and standards of transgressor moral.
In an interview with the “Fuchia” website, which specializes in art news, Ayman Reda defended the inclusion of certain daring words in the series, noting that this is very common in international dramas, claiming: “We are the smallest people used”, indicating that the Syrian drama does not make excessive use in relation to foreign productions.
He added: “Those who follow international work will notice that the use of these words also exists, but some people in Syria are used to them, because we hear them daily in the streets, and even inside houses.”
In response to criticisms calling for the prevention of these sentences in the series, he said: “Is it appropriate that these words are broadcast on television? Perhaps yes and perhaps not, art is based on experimentation, and the spectator is used to what is presented there, and over time, these things can become bad, because it happens with the songs that are repeated until they are established in mind, the bad. “

The Syrian artist Samer Al -Masry had criticized what he described as the phenomenon of “blasphemies and vulgar words” in certain Syrian dramas presented during the Ramadan 2025 season, considering that he offends the history of the Syrian drama, which has always been characterized by respecting the spirit and the taste of the Arab viewer.
