Refrigerators Roin in Pará has a seven -time irregular incommunction rate than others economy
The refrigerators who joined the TAC behavior modification agreement (TAC) underwent independent scrutiny 91.7 % according to social and environmental standards in livestock purchases. The data was issued on Wednesday (14) by the Federal Public Prosecution Service (MPF), at a press conference held at the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PGR), in Brazilia.

Throughout the legal Amazon, 89 refrigerators were analyzed in six states: Acre, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia and Tocantins. The audits have witnessed whether the institutions have achieved social standards for the environment for purchases that were conducted between January and 2022. The second unified session of the legal meat project revealed that refrigerators with the contracting audits have only 4 % of the violations, compared to 52 % that were discovered in the automatic checks applied to companies without choosing – a difference of 13 times.

For the MPF Environmental Coordinator, Luiza Frischeisen, the results of the audits show the maturity of the legal meat and bristles program. “The fourth chamber of MPF will continue to strengthen this agenda, which not only fights the removal of forests and other laws in the Amazon, but also enhances social and environmental justice and enhances the sustainable economy,” he said.
Challenges are still standing
One of the main challenges that MPF has referred to in tracking indigo suppliers – those who provide direct suppliers of refrigerators. Initial data reveals that between January 2020 and DECEMBER 2021, only 38 % of the livestock obtained from the indirect suppliers accordingly. Another 27 % has the possibility of non -compliance, while 35 % did not have correspondence with the rural environmental registry (CAR).
The main violations of these suppliers include livestock in heavy areas (38 %), in banned lands (23 %), and to a lesser extent, in protected lands (3 %) and areas associated with slave work (less than 1 %).
In order to enhance monitoring and expand commitment to obligations, MPF will adopt measures such as providing shares against companies that do not exceed TAC and send messages to environmental agencies to prioritize these companies. It is also proposed to implement the pre -voltage system for all companies and to develop a protocol to track the undisputed suppliers.

Tac of Legal Meat is an initiative from MPF that aims to ensure that the meat provided to the consumer -national and international market – has legal origin, avoiding animal trade from areas that contain illegal deforestation, slave employment, invasions to conservative units and indigenous lands or lands.
