The deputy for the Congress Mohammad Javed
Bill for modification of the WAQF 2025:: The bill on the modification of the WAQF adopted 2025 of the Parliament. The government adopted this bill in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, but before the president’s approval on the bill, a deputy for the Congress arrived at the Supreme Court. The deputy for the Congress Mohammad Javed challenged the Waqf bill (amendment), 2025 to the Supreme Court, affirming that it was contrary to the constitutional provisions. In addition to the deputy for the Congress, the head of the Aimim, Asaduddin Owaisi, also filed a request before the Supreme Court.
What in the petition
Javed, the deputy for Lok Sabha de Kishanganj at the Bihar, was a member of the joint parliamentary committee formed on this bill. He allegedly allegedly alleged a provision in the bill that a person can only marry on the basis of the continuation of his religious beliefs. The Javed petition allegedly alleged that the bill provided for provisions to impose “arbitrary sanctions” on the properties of the WAQF and their management, which will weaken the religious autonomy of the Muslim community. The petition tabled by the lawyer Anas Tanveer declares that the bill has discriminated against the Muslim community, because it “has been restored in other religious arrangements. Such limitations are baseless according to Islamic law, tradition and violating the fundamental right to obey and follow religion under article 25.”
That Owaisi said
Citing article 26 of the Constitution, which allows religious sects in India to manage their affairs, the bill for modifying the petition has been described as unconstitutional. According to Owaisi, the amendment stops a certain Waqf security which is also given to Hindu, Jain and Sikhs religious and charity arrangements. Such a step is a violation of the right to equality under article 14.
