The Morocco Embassy in Brussels organized Thursday evening, in partnership with the European Council for Moroccan scholars in Belgium (CEBBC), a breakfast banquet for the benefit of Moroccan imams and mosque companies in Belgium.
This event was distinguished by the presence of Bernard Quinin, the Belgian Interior Minister, Saeed Shabar, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Moroccan scholars, and Mohamed Rafiki, secretary general of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Scholars.
Mohamed Amer, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Kingdom of Belgium, underlined, in his welcoming speech, that the month of Ramadan represents an opportunity to improve the good understanding of Islam as a religion of peace and coexistence, in particular in the light of the current context which testifies to the escalation of isolation and growing extremism.
Rabat’s ambassador to Brussels also underlined the Moroccan religious model based on moderation, peace and moderation, pointing to the principles that characterize the spiritual identity of Morocco; Among them is the contextual reading of religious texts and linking them to the mind.
In this regard, the diplomat appointed him with the recent royal directives aimed at adapting the family code to the developments of the Moroccan company.
Mohamed Amer also underlined the central role of the royal institution, as an emirate of the faithful, to ensure freedom of worship and improve interconfessional dialogue; This makes the kingdom an exceptional model in the management of religious affairs at the regional level.
In this context, he also invoked the royal message which called on Moroccans to refrain from massacring the sacrifices of the AID AL -Adha for economic and climatic reasons; This is a step that was widely welcomed, especially in the most fragile social circles.
For his part, Mustafa Shanaddda, head of the European Council of Moroccan scholars, stressed the important role played by imams in Belgium to spread the values of average Islam calling for coexistence.
As for Bernard Quinin, the Belgian Minister of the Interior, he underlined the strength of bilateral relations between Belgium and Morocco, whether at economic, political or security levels, praising the role played by the Moroccan community to strengthen these relations.
On this occasion, the Belgian Minister stressed that he had met the Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Burita in Rabat during the month of January, where he renewed the position of his country on the question of the Moroccan Sahara, calling for his government to develop this situation.
It should be noted that this event witnessed the presence of around 500 people; Among them, Belgian and Belgian ambassadors, mayors and personalities of political and economic circles, as well as actors of civil society. A number of members of the Moroccan community have also attended activists in various fields, in particular in the religious field, teacher the Arabic language and promoting Moroccan culture.
