The administration of electronic space in China, in cooperation with three other agencies, has announced new rules which oblige service providers to determine the content of artificial intelligence, explicitly, or via encrypted descriptive data in each file. These rules should come into force on September 1, 2025, according to Bloomberg.

This step comes from Beijing after the European Union and the United States applying regulations aimed at controlling misleading information, imposing artificial content signs published online.

The rapid proliferation of obstetric artificial intelligence techniques – which includes everything, of writing articles and the creation of images to the tradition of human voices – has increased the risk of proliferation of misleading information.

The European Union artificial intelligence law includes provisions forced to put signs of the installation or modified by artificial intelligence.

Content of artificial intelligence

“The law of signs that users will help identify deceptive information and keep service providers responsible for classifying their content. This procedure aims to reduce the abuse of content from artificial intelligence.”

The law obliges application operators to verify with developers if their programs provide artificial intelligence content and examine their classification mechanisms.

However, platforms can still provide artificially without notes content, as long as they comply with relevant regulations, and this service is provided at the request of the user.

According to the press release, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies, the Ministry of Public Security and the National Radio and Television Administration also participate in the implementation of these rules.

China and artificial intelligence

The Chinese government aims to take advantage of the artificial intelligence revolution and maximize its gains in the light of global competition on this emerging market, while Beijing schools have announced the supply of artificial intelligence courses for primary and secondary students, as part of an element of strengthening the leadership of China in this area.

The Education Committee of the Municipality of Beijing has announced on its website that Chinese schools would provide at least 8 hours of artificial intelligence lessons each year, from the semester that begins on September 1, noting that schools can provide these independently, or integrate them into existing programs such as IT and science.
