The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development in Great Britain has revealed that it had spent more than 3.1 million pounds (more than $ 4 million in the current exchange rate) in recent years to follow the efforts to combat migrants and human trafficking in North African countries.

The same ministry said, in his response, which was seen by the electronic newspaper Hespress, that “Great Britain provided an additional amount of 490,000 pounds (more than 600,000 dollars) for” UNODC “programs to form the staff of the law application and border officials of North Africa to monitor cases of suspicion of smuggling and response to people.
She added that the immigration file, including the smuggling of organized people and crimes, is a major priority for her.
The British government has stressed on its website that “North Africa is one of the least integrated regions in the world, where there is a very limited official regional trade and little cooperation in the face of security threats”, noting that “the countries of the region are faced with joint security, the political and economic challenges which are likely to be exacerbated by the challenges that exceed the national edges”.
She pointed out that “regional responses are the best way to manage the problems of common and transversal stability and prosperity in this region”, noting that “the United Kingdom has established structures through the common unity of North Africa to study problems in regional and multiple countries, where this perspective can stimulate and affect other partners, including Duo and Multipartite actors, which have greater investments in the region, likewise. “
She added that London continues to support the North African Region through the Regional Cooperation Fund (RCF), through initiatives focused on resolving cross -problems, which require coordination and cooperation to face them effectively, including immigration, economic integration and climate problems.
