In the middle of the stress of India, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) gave a fund of $ 1 billion in Pakistan. Despite the desire, India could not vote against this rescue package given in Pakistan. However, India opposed the funding citing the bad history of Pakistan and said that financial assistance that Pakistan had received earlier did not use it properly.

In fact, during the IMF board meeting held in Washington on May 9, India expressed its concern about the rehearsal of Pakistan which does not fulfill the terms of IMF help. India has cited the IMF report, declaring that political opinions have an important role in granting IMF loan for Pakistan. It was also told in the report that due to the repeated plumps, Pakistan debt has become very high, which makes it “very big bankruptcy” for the IMF.

India has also raised that the financial aid provided by the IMF in Pakistan is not properly used, and with this aid, the army and terrorist groups of Pakistan are indirectly supported. India allegedly alleged that the financial aid provided in Pakistan gives a boost to terrorist organizations such as Lashkar-E-Taiba and Jaish-E-Mohammed, who attack Indian earth.

Why could India not vote against Pak financing?

Decisions in the IMF are generally unanimous, but when the vote takes place, there is no voting option to protest. Member countries can only vote to support or refrain from voting. India openly opposed the rescue package, but under the rules, it could only refrain from voting. Given this, India had withdrawn its executive director Krishnamurthy Subramaniam in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) six months before the scheduled period. With this, India was unable to vote in the IMF today.

Explain that the economy of Pakistan, which is struggling with Kangali, depends seriously on the help of the IMF. It is considered a message to the IMF and other multilateral financial institutions to move away from this vote from India that financial assistance in Pakistan without taking concrete measures can be dangerous in terms of regional security.
