BERLIN – His Majesty King Abdullah II met in Berlin today, Wednesday, with representatives of government economic institutions, leaders and representatives of German companies, to discuss the means of expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting focused on the discussion of investment opportunities in sectors that receive common attention such as green energy, financial services, science, engineering, technology, agriculture and food.
His Majesty underlined the importance of strategic relations between the two countries and based on close partnership between them, noting that Jordan has stable stages in political, economic and administrative modernization.
His Majesty stressed that skilled human skills, advanced legislation and appropriate infrastructure for the economic growth of the Kingdom improve the ability to attract investments and provide job opportunities.
His Majesty underlined Jordan’s commitment to achieve growth despite the challenges of the region thanks to the strong banking sector, prudent financial policies, advanced digital infrastructure and the severity of reform efforts, which improved the performance of Jordan in the world classification of credits.
Participants included representatives of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the German Industries Federation, the German Arab Chamber of Commerce and a number of large companies and banks.
For their part, the participants talked about opportunities to expand cooperation with Jordan in many areas that include investment, energy, technology, agriculture and financial services.
The meeting was followed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Affairs of Expatriates Ayman Al -Safadi, Director of the office of His Majesty, Eng. Alaa Al -Batayneh, and the kingdom’s ambassador to Germany Fayez Khoury.
Before the meeting, His Majesty met with the German deputy advisor and the federal minister for economic affairs and climate protection, Dr. Robert Habik, and discussed the means of improving cooperation between the two countries. – (Petra)
