The relationship that has started to deteriorate since the elections of the 2014 Assembly continues today. Shiv Sena is divided into two parts, the power of Uddhav has decreased considerably. Now, the current CM of the Maharashtra and then of the president of the Maharashtra BJP, will become Fadnavis, has made a great disclosure on this separation. Fadnavis said that Uddhav’s insistence on the fight against more seats had broken the BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance in 2014.
Shiv Sena wanted 151 seats
The chief minister of Maharashtra, becoming Fadnavis, made a great disclosure and shared the internal history of the dramatic controversy between Shiv Sena and the BJP in 2014. During the reception ceremony of the Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, Fadnavis openly spoke of the reasons for the first break of alliance. Fadnavis said we were ready to give 147 seats to the SHIV Sena, and it was decided that the chief minister would be on our side, while the deputy minister -in -chief would be Shiv Sena. He also said that there was a sign of mutual understanding in initial discussions, but the alliance broke out due to the refusal of Shiv Sena to compromise on the allocation of seats. Fadnavis said: “But Uddhav Thackeray remained categorical on 151 seats and it was the moment when the alliance broke.”
Uddhav insistence
According to him, the BJP had proposed a formula for the sharing of the seats, under which Shiv Sena will dispute 147 seats and the BJP will dispute 127 seats. However, Uddhav Thackeray remained categorical at the request of 151 seats, which led to a difference between the two parties that cannot be resolved. Fadnavis also said: “We interact with the management of Shiv Sena and we were also ready to give him more space. But Uddhav had corrected the number of 151 in his mind. I was the party president. He (Omprakash Mathur) said that we bring together the government and that was the moment when our dear friend went with Shiv Sena.”
The case reached PM Modi
He explained in detail the important intervention of OM Prakash Mathur, who spoke to the head of the BJP, Amit Shah, who then sent the question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Fadnavis said: “The Minister of the Interior Amit Shah spoke to the Prime Minister, and it was decided that if there was a formula of 127 for the BJP and 147 for Shiv Sena, then the alliance will continue. Otherwise, the alliance will not work.”
When a broken coalition
The chief minister then revealed the important moment, because of which the final alliance broke. He said I had confidence in Amit Shah and Om Prakash Mathur. We thought we could win, but the rest of the party was not as optimistic. Finally, with the support of Mathur and Amit Shah, Fadnavis gave an ultimatum to the SHIV SENA, proposing to challenge with the SHIV SENA on the proposed formula of 147 for Shiv Sena and 127 for the BJP. Recalling that Fadnavis said: “We have told him that if you are ready to fight 147 seats, we will stand with you and that we will dispute 127 seats. The two parties will obtain excellent results and the two will win more than 200 seats.” However, Uddhav Thackeray rejected the proposal due to categorical in 151 seats. According to Fadnavis, the alliance broke out due to this persistence.
BJP won
Fadnavis has also shared information on the electoral strategy. Despite the failure of the siege sharing conversation, he stressed how the BJP, led by Narendra Modi, challenged in a record number of constituencies. He said: “We had challenged more than 260 seats, which was unprecedented. Earlier, we had never challenged more than 117 seats.” According to Fadnavis, this adventure decision to fight 260 seats laid the foundations for BJP’s success in the Maharashtra. Since then, the BJP has remained the largest party in the Maharashtra and has been the only party to cross the 100 seats in the past 30 years. The merit of this success goes to Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah and Om Prakash Mathur. “”
