The tenth edition of applications for a good program-a technological educational program that challenges students and teachers to develop applications that enhance technology capabilities in the transformation of their societies-in the stage of regional meetings, which this time reached the Madeira Archipelago at a meeting between students from Madeira schools and also promotional communities (CPE).
The second and third courses of the courses, Dr. Bento Jovia in Madeira, were the project winner in the field of health promotion: Hook (helping people with kindness), an application designed for the elderly and people with low movement. Provides homework and medical follow -up -moments of shopping and entertainment. It works with the cooperation of volunteers and local entities.
With a bet on a solution designed to enhance decent work and economic growth, the Portuguese School in Mozambique was the winner of an application that connects young people to business opportunities in Mozambique. It allows you to create profiles, search for nearby jobs, access useful information to develop skills and enter the labor market with greater confidence.
The competition was 22 projects from two schools in Madeira, 2 Mozambique and 1 from Angola who have developed technological solutions to solve real challenges in line with the 17 United Nations goals (SDGs) that focus on areas such as areas such as education, health and gender equality, clean energies, sustainable entry, innovation, and others.
CDI Portugal for Good has a direct link to the sustainable development goals as they seek to enable young people to create technological solutions that meet the real problems of society and the environment. Through this initiative, young people are encouraged to develop applications that enhance innovation and sustainable infrastructure. In addition, applications for good contribute to quality education by providing practical and comprehensive training in technology, and preparing young people for the challenges of the twenty -first century. By opening opportunities for young people from different contexts to reach technology and innovation, the program also helps to reduce inequality. Thus, the program is a practical tool that allows young people not only to recognize technology, but also to act in a sustainable and responsible way, which helps build a better future for all
The FORD Applications program, which is located in the eleventh version, is an innovative educational educational program that challenges students from fifth to twelfth grade, teachers from public and private schools to a team, and during the school year, the experience of the product development course and the creation of applications for smartphones or tablets, and show them technology capabilities in transforming the world and their place. In these 11 years of existence, the project has already participated in more than 25,000 students, 1700 teachers and 5650 schools that created thousands of technological solutions. In 2020, the project was recognized by UNESCO with the Teacher Performance Prize for Improvement.
