In February, we had already warned this problem in our podcast “Vouga in Motion”, but it is with great regret and concern that we discover that the situation has been aggravated, especially in the section that connects Oliveira de Azeméis to Espinho. In this sense, we seek explanations from sources related to the CP, which confirmed that the suppressions are due to the damage of the circulating material. In addition, we also know that the material was not correctly rotated due to problems deriving from the works of the central section, which connects Oliveira de Azeméis to Sernado Do Vouga, where the seminars are located. Presumably, the problems in reporting the contractor’s line and machinery will not have allowed the circulation of trains in that thing.
Although, in the last few days, the CP has protected the correct replacement service, the truth is that we are a movement that represents users of this railway and for this reason we could not fail to report this situation. We warned that having only seven cars available for the commercial service was insufficient. It is urgent to acquire more compositions and reached this point, we cannot tolerate further excuses, because we know that there is a narrow gauge material available for the acquisition in different countries. The CP itself has already said that there was material identified in Spain and Greece, but unfortunately nothing has been done so far. May this material arrive and get to quickly, since users need the train to arrive, arrive in hours and arrive clean.
In a country where the search for the train has increased thanks to the Green Pass Rail, the truth is that with the constant inaction of the protection in the resolution of these problems, it is no wonder that the line vouga is in counter -refill with the national reality. Unfortunately, the current government cannot be exempt from responsibilities, since it preferred to “play” studies for the change of caliber, without first having created the conditions that guaranteed the correct functioning of the current service. In addition, it should be noted that the full renewal work of the fair passage section should already be in progress. In our opinion, we managed to discover with the IP, the beginning of the effort will depend on “formalities that are still ongoing” and for this reason “it is not yet possible to indicate a date for its beginning”.
