On Sunday, the White House said, at dawn, that US President Donald Trump is in the face of “terrorism” to protect international trade, noting that his administration takes action to end what he described as the Houthis threatening American economic and national security.
He added that the Houthis had attacked American individuals abroad and threatened Washington Allies in the region, stressing that any “terrorist force” will not prevent American sales and naval ships from moving freely in the world’s navigable views, the press release said.
The White House indicated that Houthi attacks on maritime transport since 2023 have negatively affected American economic security and world trade, explaining that the number of commercial ships in the Red Sea has increased from 25,000 per year to around 10,000.
He said that Houthi attacks had caused a price of around 60% of ships to Africa to cross the Red Sea, and they also attacked American warships, 174 times and commercial ships 145 times since 2023.
