The former president of Isro K Kasturirangan died
Doctor Krishnaswamy Casturiagangan Death: Indian spatial research organization (Isro) Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former president of the former, died at his residence in Bengaluru on Friday, April 25. He was 84 years old. ISRO officials gave this information. Kasturirangan retired in 2003 after serving the ISRO as a speaker for more than nine years.
ISRO officials declared in a statement published that “he died at his residence in Bangalore at 10:43 am this morning. His body will be kept at the Raman Research Institute (RRI) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 27 for the last Darshan.”
Between 1994-2003, Dr. Kasturirangan won the post of secretary in the space department for more than nine years as fifth president of the ISRO. During his long career of almost 40 years in the ISRO, he was one of several important missions. It was the first first two observations of India, Bhaskar-I and project director II.
Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, Dr. Kasturirangan, obtained a baccalaureate in science and a master’s degree in science with distinction in physics of Bombay University. In 1971, he obtained a doctorate in experimental high energy astronomy while working in the physical research laboratory in Ahmedabad.
The former head of the ISRO was the president of the Committee draft to formulate the ambitious new national education policy (NEP). Kasturirangan, known as the pioneer of education reforms listed at NEP, was also the Chancellor of the University of Jawaharlal Nehru and president of the Karnataka Knowledge Commission.
He was also a member of Rajya Sabha (2003 to 2009) and the India planning committee.
Kasturirangan was also director of the National Institute for Bengaluru’s Advanced Studies from April 2004 to 2009.
