The British Minister for International Development, Baroneh Chapmann, began a visit to the kingdom on Sunday, during which she announced her support for refugees and their host communities in Jordan.
The British embassy in Amman, with a declaration, given that Jordan welcoming one of the largest refugee rallies in the world, said that the funding provided by the world facilitator (GCFF) contributes to improving basic services, creating economic opportunities and developing the vital refugee infrastructure, providing better and more sustainable future conditions.
Thanks to its 4 million pound contribution, which was announced today, will help the United Kingdom reduce the pressures that push refugees to use irregular migration methods.
Chapman takes meetings with the Minister of Finance, Abdel Hakim Shibli and the Minister of Cooperation and International Planning, Zina Touqan, and the Minister rents Jordan’s Pivot role in the Camp for Syrian refugees The efforts of Ordan to provide assistance to Gaza and the difficulties which he is currently confronted following the Israeli seat.
“My visit to the region comes in the light of critical events, violence in Gaza must stop immediately – diplomacy alone, not the bloodshed, is the one that guarantees the security of the Palestinians and the Israelis,” said Chapman.
“The funding that I have announced today in Jordan will help improve the life of many refugees, to find local opportunities, to give the most vulnerable groups a more sustainable future and to reduce the reasons for immigration which obliges refugees to make risky trips, adding that this is a decisive step in promoting stability and improving the life of those who have desperately needed.
“The central role of Jordan in the support of humanitarian efforts in Gaza and its pioneering role in the development of the Arab reconstruction plan, affirmed to work with international partners, we can help ensure a sure future in which the Palestinian people remain at home.”
This visit comes in the wake of an appeal between Prime Minister Kiir Starmer and His Majesty King Abdullah II on Saturday morning, while the Prime Minister expressed his thanks to His Majesty the King for the role of Jordan leadership in his aspiration to stability in the Middle East, and he expressed his commitment to continue to work together to ensure the Palestinians and Israel.
