There was a time – not so long ago – when Puerto Vallarta’s culinary scene was best known for celviche and shrimp tacos. And it’s not a bad thing – PV does these two things very well.
But in recent years, something beautiful has been bubbling under the surface. This formerly sleeping seaside town has turned into a cosmopolitan center, where cultures have converged and brought their eclectic international cuisine with them.
Vallarta still has its beach charm, but now it is associated with a global catering scene which has made it one of the main destinations for gourmets in Mexico. Walk a few houses of houses and you can travel from Tokyo to Tuscany, from Athens to Barcelona, without leaving the cobbled streets.
No kitchen is prohibited here, and the chefs bring talents to the table. Whether you want a good French moment, handmade pasta, Thai curry or an elegant Omakase evening, Vallarta book.

Best sushi in Puerto Vallarta
Find decent sushi in Puerto Vallarta – or, at least, not stuffed with cream cheese – was once completely the fight. But today, PV has three out -of -competition sushi restaurants that feel like you have tripped in the cobbled streets and in a tiny Tokyo restaurant.
Tario manage bar is the current darling of my obsession with Sushi PV. It is minimal, modern and a little hidden unless you have spent time for walking in the district Versalles. This little sushi counter specializes in the hand rolls (Temaki). Sit up at the counter and let the chef guide you (the Omakase menus are offered on weekends), or order a few hand rolls and see what you like most.
In the meantime, Kenta Book with a funky industrial-chic-meets-Japan decor. The chef’s specialty rolls are exceptional, as is Takoyaki and Nigiri. With a just location on Basilio Badillo, this does not become more practical. Note that Kenta is only in cash.
BeOn the other hand, it is a serious energy from Omakase. This sweet and high -end voice sushi restaurant is a more traditional culinary experience. Abandon your evening to the chef (and prepare to spend a pretty peso) and emerge in a state of happiness induced by Umami.
Best Panasiatic Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta
Thai street food may not be what comes to mind when you think of Mexico, but Tuk Tuk will certainly change your opinion. Think of crisp spring rolls, green curry, Thai pad and Satay chicken. It is relaxed, comfortable and downright addictive.
And if you have not accomplished your Thai solution, Siam Cocina Thai This is where you are going for a perfect papaya salad, a Pad Tangy Thai and a spicy Tom Yum soup.
Bonito cuisine This is what happens when a chic design aesthetics meet the comforting panasic food. Their ramen bowls, their Bao buns and their Vietnamese rollers are what you order here. The restaurant has two locations: one in Zona Romantica and one in river.
And then there is the OG: Archie Wokwhich is often classified as one of the best Asian merger restaurants in the city. The menu offers everything, from Thai street dishes to Chinese noodle dishes and Vietnamese snacks.
Fantastic Italian restaurants in Puerto Vallarta
Italian cuisine has exercised a major complaint on Vallarta, and the selections have only improved over the years. One of the pillars of Italian PV restaurants is Dolce Vita (which has four locations). Opt for the one on the malecon Navigable track so that you can have a spectacular view at sunset. It is the old school with heavy portions, a friendly service and a carpaccio of octopus which is a must.
Traviata Pasta pays with one of the best seats in the house. The restaurant, perched at the top of the Paloma del Mar hotel, has a panoramic view of the roofs of the Cinco district of Dichembre de Puerto Vallarta and above the Banderas Bay.
My go-to for candlelight evenings is Trattoria Ciento onceNestled in an outdoor courtyard in Versalles. The selection of pasta is perfect (I always order the Bolognais), the wine list is solid and the live music sends the experience over it.
Best pizza in Puerto Vallarta
Speaking of Italy, the pizza scene in Puerto Vallarta deserves its own category. Wandering pizza is a new fashionable coming in PV – a traveling nomadic pizza experience that appears in different bars every week. Check their Instagram page to see where they appear next.
Night is paradise for its sticky, cheesy and wood fire. You can’t go wrong with the classic Margherita pizza, and do not sleep on the tiramisu.
For a really excellent sourdough crust pizza, I love recommending Mother mass. Their thin crust pizza – garnished with arugula, prosciutto and figure – is sublime.
Top Greeks Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta
Yes! Puerto Vallarta even has Greek restaurants now. They are sitting side by side, so that you can easily compare and contrast. Greek bistro opa is splashed in Greek and classic white blue. The menu contains the classics, from Spanakopita to Tzatziki, to the Greek salad and Moussaka.
To not be outdone, the next Greek restaurant Mykonos With succulent skewers, toasted octopuses and seafood soaked in lemon. The terrace upstairs is windy with a breathtaking view of the streets Versalles.
French and Spanish restaurants in Puerto Vallarta
Europe is well represented on the plates of Puerto Vallarta. The cicada is a comfortable French bistro in Versalles. Think of exposed brick, leather benches and vintage photos. If you want French onion soup, large bowls of mussels or a cute juicy net, this is the place to strike. You can start the evening next Antidote Bar, belonging to a French couple, which serves as fantastic French wines and a legendary cheese plate.
For Spanish tapas, Tapas Barcelona is a PV institution. One of the best restaurants in the city, the Restaurant on the Centro roof has a breathtaking view of the bay. Order the seafood paella, the stuffed kibbles of Jamon Serrano, or the brave spicy.
