Funchal City Council confirms that it is implementing a series of strategic interventions in the context of transportation and trafficking in the road network and paving it, to improve access conditions and enhance road and pedestrian safety in the Funchal municipality.
One of the recently completed interventions focused on Commander Kamacho de Freitas, in a section of about 900 meters long, between crossing leather and Santo Amaro method.
This interest included the following procedures:
Reviving the corridor, in order to inhibit the practice of speed and reduce the time of infantry crossing;
Expanding pedestrian trading roads at 980 square meters;
Implementing 30 periods of tours in pedestrian transit areas;
Create three new mill and two current mills to enhance the safety of greater transit and reduce road circulation speed;
Improving the vision of the conductors that leave the gardens;
Improvements in the terms of access to public transport, with the creation of custom sidewalks and the installation of a new stop shelter;
Integrated paving of the current.
The investment in this investment was 243,734.33 euros + VAT, of which 78,207.46 euros were directed to implement mobility and traffic calm measures, and 165,526.87 euros were applied to the aforementioned stroke.
This work is part of a wider municipality plane, which until the end of 2025 is expected to make interventions in 40 distinct areas of the general space of Funchal.
Among the planned procedures, we highlight:
75 periods of tours;
More than 3100 square meters of repair and expanding tours;
19 overwhelming new mills.
Create “Kiss & Ride” corridors, next to Dr. Horácio Bento de Guveia and EB1/PE DA CRUZ de Carvalho.
The total estimated amount of these interventions is about 450,000 euros + VAT.
Funchal City Council is still committed to promoting a more, safe and comprehensive city for all its citizens and visitors, as the executive authority confirms.
