Women represent 37% of the total industrial sector workers …

A member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Industry Chamber and the representative of the therapeutic and medical supplies sector, Dr. Fadi Al -Arrash, confirmed that women represent around 37% of the total industrial workforce, according to data from the Center for Studies and Strategies of the Chamber.
Al -Arrash told the Jordan news agency (PETRA) that this percentage reflects an increasing role for women at various production stages, stressing that the empowerment of industrial women is one of the priorities in the sector and is in accordance with national trends to strengthen the economic participation of women and to carry out justice in employment opportunities.
He added that the industrial sector in the whole kingdom plays an important role in improving the role of women, constitutes one of its priorities and is in accordance with its plans to offer employment possibilities equal to both sexes in the industrial sectors.
He continued that the industrial sector employs more than 99,000 women, out of approximately 268 thousand workers, most of whom are Jordanians, who work in around 18,000 industrial facilities distributed in all the governors of the kingdom, explaining that the number of women, partners and business owners in industrial companies is 1,500 women in more than 600 industrial establishments.
Al -Arrash has indicated that employment in many factories is women, because of its high productivity and its commitment to labor systems and regulations and employment stability, explaining that chamber studies indicate that the rate of rotation of women in local factories is 15%, against 25% for men.
He stressed that the strategy of empowering women in the vision of economic modernization has focused on the initiative of women in manufacturing industries, and has been reflected in the executive plan to see the economic update within the women’s empowerment sector, because the manufacturing sector is one of the promising sectors, and has received its contribution to the gross inner product.
He stressed the importance of supporting women and improving their access in various fields and activating their role to participate in decision -making operations, in accordance with the targets of the vision of economic modernization, by offering more than 280,000 job possibilities for Jordan in the coming years.
He stressed that the Jordan Industry Chamber declared a document entitled “The initiative of the Jordan Industry Chamber to improve the economic participation of women: a future vision”, which is based on a group of pillars: inspiration for young people in secondary schools, improving participation in technical and vocal education and training, and improves the quality and capacity of vocational and technical training centers.
He stressed that the document also focuses on improving professional orientation and job compliance, research and studies to improve learning and best practices in industrial sectors, designing human resources policies to preserve talents, developing and empowering leadership, in addition to establishing a network of industrial women.
He explained that the Jordan industry had adopted numerous programs and strategies to advance women in the industrial sector as work and worker, by communicating with industrial women, by providing them with consultations and training required, and by encouraging them to occupy management positions in the private sector and to improve their employment.
According to Al -Arrash, the clothing industry sector is the most used industrial sectors of women in total employment of 68%, followed by the therapeutic sector and medical supplies of 35%, then packaging and the chemical sector of 15%for each, food, food and agriculture of 11%.
He underlined the program for the future of women, which is implemented by the Chamber of Jordan industry in partnership with the Norwegian Confederation of Institutions, and in cooperation with the Forum of Business Women and Professions and the Tunisian Federation to reach future leadership positions.
He pointed out that the program had provided more than 200 hours of training offered to participants, and 50 graduates were included in the platform anxious to provide opportunities to women on the boards of directors, indicating that 14 Jordanian coaches approved in its implementation, through the local training equipment that has developed in the proportion of the Jordanian context, while the current year was involved in disabled, in order to improve the principles of the principles of total and equality.
Al-Atrash stressed that Jordanian industry is looking for in the next step to allow the work environment for women in the industrial sector, and to improve and develop women’s skills by providing national programs to direct education and results training to meet the different needs of the sector .- (PETRA)
