World Tuberculosis Day:: Gujarat recorded remarkable progress in 2024 towards the objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India without TB by 2025. Under the direction of the Minister -in -Chief Bhuependra Patel, the government of the State completed 95% of the objective set by Niti Aayog in terms of tuberculosis registration and treatment success, while the rate of perfection of treatment was 91%. Gujarat had the identification and recording target of 1,45,000 patients with TB in 2024, against whom 1.37,929 TBs were successfully identified and recorded. In addition, 1.24,581 patients managed to complete the treatment, which recorded the treatment rate of 90.52%. At the same time, 1.31,501 patients with TB also received a treatment establishment in these patients with registered tuberculosis.

Tuberculous patients should be motivated for their regular treatment and in the absence of money, there is no problem in their treatment, ensuring that the Government of Gujarat provides financial assistance from RS 500 to TB patient for medical expenses within the framework of the nutrition program. The Government of Gujarat recently signed an important memorandum of understanding with Lions Club International on March 6, 2025 in order to provide nutrition kits each month during treatment to all patients with state tuberculosis. Under this, TB patients will be adopted and provide them with nutritional support. Lions Club International will play an active role in providing nutritional assistance to patients from the whole state. The state government hopes that such efforts will improve the recovery rate of patients with tuberculosis at faster speed.
